Easter 2017

Easter 2017 FB Event Photo

You definitely don’t want to miss Easter this year at Azalea City! Join us Sunday, April 16 at 9:00 AM or 11:00 AM and be sure to bring a friend.

Note: Encounter Groups will not meet on this day. Hospitality will not be available before service.

Please allow a little more time as we are expecting larger crowds this weekend.
Kingdom Kids will be in their sanctuary in the Family Life Center for the 11 AM service only. There will be no Kingdom Kids service at 9 AM. Nursery will be available for both services.

Toddlers and Nursery students will be in their areas as normal for both the 9 AM and 11 AM service.

When you are ready to pick your child up, present your sticker/stub for scanning at the same location of check in. Your child will then be sent to you by Kingdom Kids staff.

Service will last about an hour and twenty minutes.

If you have children in 6th grade or lower we would love to have them join Kingdom Kids, our children’s ministry, in the Family Life Center at 11 AM. Check in is simple and quick.

21 Day Fast

Our 21 Day Fast starts Monday, January 9 and will run through Sunday, January 29. If you’ve never fasted, don’t worry, we have some resources that explain why and how to fast down below. You can also find them under the “Fast” tab at azaleacity.info.

Types of Fasts

While fasting for 21 days is usually connected with doing a Daniel Fast, we want the Holy Spirit to speak to you specifically on what fast you and your family should participate in.

  1. All food and drink – Total fast
  2. All food, drinking only water – Water only fast
  3. All food, drinking juice and water – Juice only fast
  4. All food except fruits and vegetables – Daniel Fast
  5. All meat
  6. Red meat
  7. Specific food or foods such as sugar, caffeine, desserts, chocolate, treats, etc.
  8. Eating out, fast food, etc.
  9. Total media fast (television, movies, secular music) including online activities – blogging, social networking, etc. Could also include all reading material other than the Bible
  10. Secular television, movies, and music
  11. Social networking i.e. FaceBook, Twitter, IM, chatrooms

While this is not a comprehensive list, it can give you a great start in your journey for the next 21 days. In addition, visit jentezenfranklin.org/fasting for more details.

Scripture References for Fasting:
Matthew 6:16-18, Matthew 9:14-15, Luke 18:9-14

Relation to Prayer and Reading of the Word:
1 Samuel 1:6-8, 17-18, Nehemiah 1:4, Daniel 9:3, 20, Joel 2:12, Luke 2:37, Acts 10:30, Acts 13:2

Corporate Fasting:
1 Samuel 7:5-6, Ezra 8:21-23, Nehemiah 9:1-3, Joel 2:15-16, Jonah 3:5-10, Acts 27:33-37

Remember that it is the attitude of a heart sincerely seeking Him to which God responds with a blessing (Isaiah 58, Jeremiah 14:12, 1 Corinthians 8:8). May God greatly bless you as you fast!
